  I recall 40 years ago before they built their Assembly Hall locally when the society would just rent out a local theatre. They had some sort of an old cattle trough they would bring along and set up for baptism. As a matter of fact I think that is what they used when I was baptised some 40 years ago.

  I have know my ex brother in law now for about 50 years. From day one he would say, "Oh this system of things can't last another year". I have not spoken to him for a number of years but I would put money on it he is still saying the same thing. The last time I seen him at a Mcdonald's studying for the Thursday night meeting. I was shocked when he said to me, "I know the WT made mistakes but it would be so good to see you back in".

  Both my parents bought into the 1975 dream and we as a family were to walk together hand in hand into that paradise earth and live forever. I bought into it as I was young and impressionable. I remember as 1975 came closer and thinking to myself, what if this is all a bunch of BS and I just wasted my time with this garbage? So the doubt started then. After 1975 that was the last straw but then it took a number of years to do a slow faze. MY parents went to their graves as faithful dubs to the end. I never really spoke to them about how we weren't supposed to age and die like this but I could tell their spirit inside was broken. They did except their mortality in the last few years of their lives but it was not supposed to end like this. So many stories I have read on here are very similar to mine, so it is not just something I made up in my mind. We were mislead by this organization and never even got an apology from them.

  He did not choose Jehovah`s Interests or Kingdom interests first , he chose money and fame along with it`s perks instead , is he a good role model for the youth of JW`s , to put Kingdom interests first in their lives ?
  Is he still in good standing amongst JW`s ? of course he is , he is up their next to Jesus now especially among the youth.of the football world.of jehovah`s Witnesses.that a great many follow.

  This makes my blood boil when as a teen I loved to entertain and play sports but I did the right thing by the WT standards and didn't pursue these activities as a career, only now to see how others that pursued their dreams and in the end have been rewarded financially. Maybe I would not have been good enough in these activities to become professional but I will never know. The worst thing is to have ones dreams crushed by some diluted old mans dream and as you get older your chances are gone forever.

  What prevents the child molester half of the pair from noting the address where children live and returning by himself later?

  What the WT seems to not understand is that not everyone has good intentions. These type of predators gravitate to positions of trust like school counsellors or religious leaders. Again I know the WT justification are he is repented of his past sins but don't get it that predators are very manipulating and not always are what they seem on the outside.

  How ignorant or arrogant is this WT society? You would think that with the bad publicity and for PR reasons they would not allow any convicted rapist or child molesters to go door to door. I know there thinking is he has repented, this is good enough. I agree that he has served his time and should be given a second chance but still for even bad PR he should be not allowed to go door to door.

  "Inactive" non Attenders, how much power do the JW's have over YOU ?

  i was thinking about this because of the constant reminders we get in posts that we inactive non attenders have to be careful what we say to jw's, and what we do that they may learn about etc, if we don't wish to be before a j.c. the power they have is limited by what we give them.

  now, i do not wish to be declared df'd of da'd, it would kill my old mum i think.. but i refuse to live my life looking over my shoulder, that, in my opinion, is giving them too much power.. i openly vote, i openly donate blood, i enjoy the odd cigar etc etc.. how much power do you allow them to have over you ?.

  Since my parents have passed on, I really don't care what the local dubs know, although I don't go around with sandwich board strapped to my back, I just live my life now.

  In love with a JW girl

  need advise.

  i was in a relation with a jw girl for almost three years(im am not jw) and we are so inlove with each other until someone saw us from her congregation and she was disfellowed and that where the oddness happened.

  her family and friends are not talking to her anymore, she wants me to stop seeing and talking to her anymore not until i became a baptized jw.

  Are the Jehovah's Witnesses really false prophets, perhaps being mentally manipulated by the Watchtower Corporation ? ?

  there is a lot of public scrutiny going on these days about the jw religion particularly on the inter - net.

  one of the posed questions which gets debated and discussed quite often, are the jws false prophets instigated to preach a tainted commercialized gospel under the direction of the executive leaders of the watchtower corporation ?

  these focused men who are responsible for creating the core doctrines of this organization.

  I recall when I first became aware that the rank and file Dubs all paid for the kingdum halls with free labour but after the local congregations took all the risks, the tittles were turned over to the WT. Regardless of how they try and justify this it was all about the WT being a real estate conglomerate. They are no better than any of the other get rich evangelist churches.

  i've seen the videos from the assemblies, but a few have mentioned that it was in a broadcast.

  does anyone know which broadcast it was, or a link to that section...i really don't want to have to watch the whole thing!.

  I have noticed in the last few years, especially since my mother passed away that certain family members ave not being overly friendly toward me. There have being little things like, wanting to come over to visit or help a family member move but have being politely told that they don't need any help. If this is the case that their minds have being poisoned against me, so be it. I now live a full life and have my own friends, without the WT BS thank you very much.
